CrossFit Program

We are so glad that you are interested in joining our gym community.  Our unique CrossFit Program consists of group training sessions, nutritional support, monthly events, and opportunities for community service.  Additionally, membership provides a number of benefits and discounts to services provided by our many members.

Group training sessions

Small group training classes that include functional movements, programmed to develop maximum adaptation across broad time and modal domains. In other words, this program will make you stronger, faster, and more aerobically and anaerobically fit. Classes consist of a comprehensive warm-up followed by a challenging and time efficient workout. All workouts are completed between 45 and 60 minutes.

Paleolithic Diet Support

Paleolithic nutrition is a way of eating that recognizes that our digestive and endocrine systems have evolved over millions of years to effectively metabolize certain foods. The the advent of modern, industrial agriculture introduced many new foods into our diet in ever growing and increasingly unhealthy quantities. This change, in addition to the introduction of other modern or “neolithic” foods such as refined flour, sugar, and artificial ingredients have been shown to cause or are strongly correlated with many common diseases seen today such as obesity, high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, and diabetes.  Compelling and reputable research suggests that controlling insulin levels through a diet low in carbohydrates, high in healthy fats, and adequate in protein will help you maintain an optimal bodyweight.  Paleolithic nutrition is a contemporary twist on diet: understanding the beauty and health of wholesome eating through modern science and medicine.

Your monthly CrossFit Program membership includes an initial diet review, dietary suggestions and monthly follow-up.  Join us in the New Year with some hardcore paleo.  Do it for a month and watch what a difference it will make. On Monday, January 9th we will kick off the “Whole 30 Paleo Challenge.” This week, starting January 2nd, is a week of preparation. Clear out your cupboard of non-paleo stuff and shop for real food. There will be a kickoff lecture on Thursday night, January 5th, at 7:00pm.  Literature about the challenge will be available all week at the gym.  And check out the facebook page where we will chat about our experiences, share recipes and stories, and provide general support for each other.

The Paleo Diet is not a weight loss plan, but rather a way of eating that is congruent with our biological processes. It consists of a palette of foods that are delicious, satisfying, easy to prepare, and will provide vibrant health and long-term health protection.

To recap: starting January 2nd clean out your fridge, cabinets, drawers, and secret hiding spots of all those sugary, grainy, processed foods!  Come Thursday night for an informative lecture on the Paleolithic diet and lifestyle.  And kick off your month of hardcore paleo Monday, January 9th with the 30-Day Challenge!

Hikes/Trail runs and Full Moon Workouts

We will get you outside to enjoy the environment every month or so with a group hike.  Plus enjoy the excitement of our special Full Moon Workouts every month at 9pm when else but on the full moon.

Community Service Opportunities

This is an ongoing and evolving commitment that Wildcat CrossFit has to give back to the Tucson community through using our muscle power to help those who need it. This may include helping clear a lot, helping to move furniture, painting a wall or anything else that may be a useful way to be physical and charitable at the same time. Participation is always voluntary and always fun!
